Who needs a hug instead of ‘feedback’?

As leaders we can sometimes get stuck behind productivity and deliverables. Yes, they are what we measure and ultimately they are the cause of profit or loss, but if we get too stuck on output and loose touch with the people doing the work along the way, then we are in trouble.

Where did the Affirmation go?

At first pass, people seem to make little distinction between praise and affirmation, often substituting the one word for the other. In reality though, there is a measurable difference in the attitude and satisfaction of a person who is praised when compared with a person who is affirmed.
